Queensland Government Back to School Boost Initiative 2026 (Prep – Year 6)

The Queensland Government has introduced the Back to School Boost Initiative for 2026, providing $100 in funding for all primary school students from Prep to Year 6.

For non-state schools, this funding will be paid directly to the school. ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ will apply the amount to each individual eligible students’ account to go against tuition fee costs. For the College to receive the $100 for each individual student, the student must have been present for the attendance period for State Census.

Once census verification has been completed, the $100 credit will be applied to Term 2 accounts.

This initiative is designed to support families with the costs of starting the new school year. For further information or questions regarding eligibility, please contact the college office or refer to the letter circulated to families on 27 November 2025.

McNab Building Pathways for Women in Trades Program

This is an incredible opportunity for female year 12 students to experience an introduction to the construction industry, see what it’s like to work as a carpenter, get a feel for working with tools, and help inspire more women to build a long and rewarding career in the industry.

Over five immersive days, participants will be paired together to gain hands-on experience in a carpentry trade, mentored by McNab’s experienced construction professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity for young women to gain real-world experience, build confidence, and explore high-demand trades in a supportive environment.

The work experience program will be held at McNab construction sites in Toowoomba and run in the school holidays from 13-17 April 2026.

For more info, drop into the Careers Hub. Applications close Friday, 20 February 2026.
